The Europa League returns this week with hotly anticipated Thursday contests between West Ham and Eintracht Frankfurt as well as Rangers and RB Leipzig.
Read on to uncover some of our favourite Europa League semi-final betting tips.
EUROPA LEAGUE SEMI-FINALS: BETTING TIPS
WEST HAM VS EINTRACHT FRANKFURT
West Ham pulled themselves into the Europa League semi-final after eliminating French outfit Lyon by an aggregate score of 4-1, in which they were able to register an impressive 3-0 victory away from home. The English side’s upcoming opponents, Eintracht Frankfurt, also had to get their hands dirty by securing a 3-2 win at Camp Nou.
Recently, both sides have struggled in the league, which may be due to the added pressure of cup competitions taking over their Thursday nights. Eintracht Frankfurt have failed to win a Bundesliga game in their last six outings (4D, 2L). Similarly, West Ham have struggled to snatch Premier League points, with just a single win in their previous five matches (1D, 3L).
In the 2018-19 season, the German side reached the semi-finals but were knocked out by Chelsea. This time around, Oliver Glasner will be hoping his side will not fall short against another London side and reach the 2022 UEFA Europa League Final.
We are pricing both teams to score at 3/4 (1.75), with West Ham to win with over 2.5 goals scored in the match at 19/10 (2.90)
If you anticipate a tactical game, we are pricing under 2.5 goals in the match at 9/10 (1.90).
As with most of these intense games, we are pricing a half-time draw, with West Ham winning the second half at 9/10 (1.90).
We are also pricing Michail Antonio to score anytime during the game at 11/5 (3.20) whilst pricing Kostic to net at 11/2 (6.50).
Previous game line-up:
West Ham – Fabianski, Johnson, Dawson, Cresswell, Coufal, Soucek, Noble, Masuaku, Yarmalenko, Fornals and Benrahma
Eintracth Frankfurt – Trapp, Tuta, Hinteregger, Ndicka, Knauff, Jakic, Rode, Kostic, Linstrom, Kamada and Maury.
Injuries or suspensions:
West Ham – Angelo Ogbonna, Issa Diop, Kurt Zouma and Aaron Cresswell (Red Card Suspension)
Eintracht Frankfurt – Ramaj, Lenz, Schroder, Ndicka, Jaki.
MATCH ODDS: West Ham are priced at 49/50 (1.98) to win, whilst Eintracht Frankfurt are at 61/20 (4.05), and a draw at 5/2 (3.50)
RB LEIPZIG VS RANGERS
RB Leipzig secured their spot in the semi-final by battling it out across two very entertaining matches against Atalanta – ultimately coming out on top with a score of 3-1 in their favour. It was a bit more difficult for Rangers after a 1-0 loss left them with plenty to do after their first away fixture. The Scottish side, however, managed to defy the odds and enjoyed a 3-1 victory in front of their fans at the Ibrox.
In their most recent Bundesliga game, RB Leipzig were on the wrong end of a contest against Union Berlin, falling short in the closing stages of the game and conceding twice in three minutes to lose 2-1. On the other hand, Rangers started the second phase of the Scottish Premiership with a win away from home against Motherwell with an impressive scoreline of 3-1.
We are anticipating an open game with plenty of chances for both sides as both teams like to attack a lot and thus pricing both teams to score at 16/15 (2.07)
We are also pricing a win for RB Leipzig and over 2.5 goals to be scored at 49/50 (1.98).
We are pricing in form Nkunku to score anytime during the match at 21/20 (2.05), whilst prolific scorer right-back James Tavernier is at 29/4 (8.25) to score anytime.
RB Leipzig are at 3/10 (1.30) to score first in the match.
Previous game line-up:
RB Leipzig – Gulasci, Simakan, Orban, Halstenberg, Kampl, Mukiele, Tasende, Adams, Forsberg, Poulsen and Nkunku
Rangers – McGregor, Tavernier, Goldson, Balogun, Barisic, Kamara, Davis, Diallo, Arfield, Wright and Sakala.
Injuries or Suspension:
RB Leipzig – Haidara, Klostermann, Willi Orban, Simakan (Yellow Card Suspension)
Rangers – Ofoborh, Ianis Hagi, Morelos, Helander.
MATCH ODDS: RB Leipzig are the favourites to come out on top at 3/8 (1.38), whilst Rangers are at 17/2 (9.50), and a draw at 4/1 (5.00)
