With the end of international football comes the true beginning of transfer season. Europe’s biggest teams are set to splash some serious cash on the best talent around the continent and bolster their ranks for their upcoming campaigns.
Join us as we take a look at the biggest names on the menu and chomp down on the chances of these superstars switching alliances and donning new shirts by the end of the window.
Erling Braut Haaland
One of the biggest names in world football. Erling Braut Haaland could be leaving Borussia Dortmund this summer if a monster bid in the region of around €175 million comes in for the young Norwegian footballer. Despite being only 20 years of age, Haaland has made a name for himself by scoring 106 goals in only 153 professional appearances, including 20 goals in the Champions League and 40 goals in 43 Bundesliga appearances. Negotiating a transfer for a superstar this size will not be easy for the elite clubs of Europe, especially when you consider that the striker is represented by none other than Mino Raiola.
Rumour has it that Borussia Dortmund have already rejected an informal proposal by Chelsea; however, the London club are still calculated to be in the running for his services at 15/2 (8.50).
Manchester City are at 5/4 (2.25) to get their man with FC Barcelona at 33/10 (4.30) and Real Madrid at 4/1 (5.00).
Alexander Isak
Alexander Isak has become the talk of the town thanks to his fantastic performance at the EURO 2020 (2021) competition. The young 21-year-old Real Sociedad centre-forward is estimated to command a price tag of up to €40 million and has already become a target on the lists of many clubs on the continent. With a professional record of 71 goals in 172 professional games, it won’t be long before the biggest European clubs come knocking with an offer too good to refuse.
The Swedish international has attracted a lot of attention from the Premier League with Liverpool at 6/1 (7.00), Manchester United at 7/1 (8.00), Chelsea at 8/1 (9.00) and Arsenal at 9/1 (10.00) to sign him.
Declan Rice
Declan ‘Rolls’ Rice is another star on the list that may have become too big for his current club, West Ham. The England international was instrumental in their push to the EURO 2020 (2021) final, starting and starring in every single game of the tournament.
Teams looking at signing Declan Rice won’t have it easy. He’s a 22 years old player with 178 professional games already under his belt and a contract that runs until 2024 – not to mention the standard premium on all English players. At the moment, the defensive midfielder is valued at around €70 million.
Five of the English ‘big six’ are all looking at his talents with Liverpool at 6/1 (7.00), Manchester United at 7/1 (8.00), Chelsea at 8/1 (9.00), Arsenal at 9/1 (10.00) and Tottenham at 12/1 (13.00) to get their hands on Declan Rice.
Harry Kane
Another huge name could be banging in goals for a new club come the end of the transfer window. After making his stance crystal clear towards the end of the 20/21 season, Harry Kane could find himself on the way out of Tottenham this summer.
Already cemented as a legend of the Premier League, the England captain – estimated to be worth upwards of €150 million – is keen to add silverware to his legacy, which transfer favourites, Manchester City at 1/1 (2.00) could provide for last season’s Premier League top goalscorer.
James Rodriguez
After only a single season in the Premier League, James Rodriguez could be on the way out. The Colombian, who was convinced to sign for Everton by Carlo Ancelotti, is said to be looking for the exit after the departure of the Italian manager to Real Madrid.
Estimated to be worth around €30 million with a contract that expires at the end of the 2022 season (club option one year), James Rodriguez has become the target of several clubs, including AC Milan, who are calculated at 2/5 (1.40) to acquire the services of the attacking midfield talent.
Patrik Schick
Czech Republic’s Patrick Schick is attracting a lot of attention. The Bayer 04 Leverkusen centre-forward became a massive star of the EURO 2020 (2021) competition this summer, scoring five goals and winning the Goal of the Tournament for his sensational long-range wonder-strike against Scotland.
With a contract that is said to run until 2025, Bayer 04 Leverkusen will know that the power in any negotiations will be on their side. The German team will demand a fee well above his estimated market price of €28 million should any club come knocking.
Liverpool are the current favourites to sign Patrick Schick this summer at 6/1 (7.00), with Aston Villa also keen at 8/1 (9.00).
