After the mid-week FA Cup ties, we turn our attention to the Premier League as it makes a return this weekend. Follow along for the best Premier League betting options.
MANCHESTER CITY VS MANCHESTER UNITED
Manchester City, who are leading the pack, have staggered in previous fixtures, losing to Tottenham and struggled to get one over Everton last time out. Similarly, Manchester United have struggled to win against teams of a lower caliber, including Watford, Burnley and Southampton.
At Old Trafford earlier in the season, it was a world-class display from Manchester City, in which they comfortably won 2-0, controlled possession and limited the Red Devils to only one single shot on target. Pep Guardiola will be pushing his side to replicate the result at the Etihad and keep up with the relentless pressure from Liverpool in second place.
Ralf Ragnick’s side, on the other hand, will be looking to put in a solid performance by closing up the spaces and hitting City on the counter-attack.
Manchester City, who are at 3/8 (1.38) to win, face off Manchester United at 33/4 (9.25), in the hotly anticipated Manchester Derby, whilst a draw is at 4/1 (5.00).
TOTTENHAM VS EVERTON
Tottenham, who occupy seventh place in the league, had a couple of disappointing losses against the likes of Wolves, Southampton and Burnley – which saw them dissipate from the top-four race. Similarly, Everton cannot seem to steer clear of the relegation zone with only a point separating them from 18th placed Burnley.
When both teams met at Goodison Park, it finished 0-0 as both teams lacked the cutting edge to finish off chances. On the day Tottenham were unable to register a single shot on target, a damning statistic when considering the strike force of Harry Kane and Son Heung-min.
Both sets of fans will be eyeing this fixture as a springboard to push for a positive end to the season as both sides are in desperate need of points. Antonio Conte mentioned that he is doubting his ability to have a positive impact on Tottenham, which reflects the lack of confidence his side showed in recent games. Additionally, Frank Lampard praised his side for being compact and limiting Manchester City’s creativity in the final third but hoped that such performances would come with a better end result.
Antonio Conte’s Tottenham, who are valued at 3/5 (1.60) to win, line up against struggling Everton at 24/5 (5.80), while a draw is priced at 63/20 (4.15).
LIVERPOOL VS WEST HAM
Red hot Liverpool are taking the league by storm, winning their last six games and unbeaten in eight, while closing the six-point gap to Manchester City with a game in hand. West Ham enjoyed success last time out as they beat Wolves at home, giving them a well-needed win after going on a two-game winless streak.
David Moyes and his West Ham side will be wary of the fact that at Anfield, Liverpool are unbeaten in 17 league games (W13 D4), making Anfield one of the worst places to visit. Last time both teams met was when the Hammers won 3-2 at the London Stadium.
Liverpool are priced at 3/10 (1.30), to continue on their great run of form against West Ham at 9/1 (10.00), while a draw is at 49/10 (5.90).
ASTON VILLA VS SOUTHAMPTON
At Villa Park, Aston Villa who are currently 13th in the league standings, host an in-form Southampton who occupy the ninth spot in the table after impressively going unbeaten in their last nine games winning against Tottenham and drawing against both Manchester teams.
In their latest meeting it was the Saints that took all three points with an early strike from Adam Armstrong. With the appointment of Steven Gerrard the fans have taken a more optimistic view of their chances in the Premier League as they aim to push towards European football.
Aston Villa at 13/10 (2.30), will be looking to make the most of home advantage as they face Southampton at 43/20 (3.15), and a draw priced at 12/5 (3.40).
