MANCHESTER CITY
The day when Manchester City could seal the treble together with their first ever Champions League trophy is here. A journey in which they defeated, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and RB Leipzig in the elimination stage, they line up against Inter in the Final. The last and only final that Manchester City participated in was back in 2020/21, when they narrowly lost out to fellow Premier League club Chelsea.
That has fueled Pep Guardiola and his players to push themselves even further to become better and perfect their game plan. This year, they looked like an unstoppable machine, winning the Premier League after overhauling an eight-point gap to Arsenal, winning comfortably although the scoreline doesn’t suggest that, against Manchester United in the FA Cup final. It all boils down to the 90 minutes or maybe more next Saturday.
The favourites to win the encounter in 90 minutes are City, priced at 1.47, with Pep’s team to eventually lift the trophy at 1.16. An eventful game with over 2.50 goals is priced at 1.77, with Erling Haaland getting onto the scoresheet at 1.67
INTER MILAN
Not many people are giving Inter Milan a chance in this final, no disrespect towards the team but when they are matched up with behemoth of Manchester City, even Real Madrid and Bayern Munich weren’t considered favourites against them. The journey for Inter has been a tough one, ever since the group stage draw. For many, this was the group of death, having Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Inter all in the same group, but they managed to get second place ahead of Barcelona, and that paved the way for them.
They struggled to shrug off the challenge of Porto, but since the quarter-finals, the team looked great both defensively and offensively. The key to success for Simone Inzaghi and his squad is the quick-fire transition from defence to attack. Lautaro Martinez and Romelu Lukaku’s partnership did not produce the good as in the past, but their chemistry on the pitch is undeniable.
Inter are priced at 7.00 to win the trophy on penalties, whilst a correct score of 1-0 is at 15.00. Lautaro Martinez is valued at 4.20 to score anytime during the game.
