JASON MCATEER – UCL FINAL, SPURS NEW MANAGER & FAREWELL

Champions League

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL

It’s a fascinating matchup and I know Man City are big favourites, but I think saying Man City are going to romp over Inter, would be a downplay on how well the Italian team did this season, especially in the Champions League. Certainly, it picked up in the last 18 games, registering only one defeat, but they had seven clean sheets, and Inzaghi has found a really good way of playing for both his players and his style, the squad is full of names that you recognise from the Euros or World Cup, such as Brozovic, Dzeko, Lukaku who mainly featured in the Champions League and Lautaro Martinez who scored over 21 goals in Serie A this season. They’ve got goals in the team which is always a plus point, they are a massive threat when it comes to offensive play, when it comes to defensive, like I said, they had seven clean sheets over the last 13 games, They will pack out the midfield with five, not sure who will he opt on top will it be Dzeko or Lukaku who will trouble Ruben Dias and who else plays with him, might be John Stones who slotted in there at the weekend. There is key battles to be won, and I think Inter would like to be the underdogs in this battle, taking a little bit of stress and pressure off the team. On the other hand, Man City will be feeling the pressure, the treble is on the cards.

For the first goalscorer, I am going for Inter Milan to nick the lead with Lautaro Martinez at 10.0, it will be his stage, his occasion, and he will be desperate to score against City and Pep.

For the correct score I am going for Man City to win 3-1 at 12.00, Bernardo Silva to get the first goal for Man City and Haaland to score two at 2.95

SPURS NEW MANAGER

I don’t wanna take away anything from him, he’s done a magnificent job at Celtic, winning the treble obviously but it’s a big ask to replicate the same success at Spurs. I don’t want to sound disrespectful towards the Scottish League, it’s going to be a difficult task especially since Spurs are not a stable club and a lot of things need to be done to propel them where they want to be. Harry Kane’s uncertain future, Richarlison has gone nowhere near the form he enjoyed with Everton, it needs freshening up in midfield as well. He’s pretty much inexperienced when it comes to spending money in the Premier League and getting the right players in. I really feel it’s a gamble and it feels to me that no one wanted the job, Slot was linked with it, Naaglesman turned it down, Pochettino I don’t know how far down the line they gone with him and to me it feels like no one wanted to go to Spurs and take on that hot seat. They do talk highly off him, I think Brendan Rodgers would have been great for them, he had more success in Scotland and managed well Leicester, got them the FA Cup and twice in Europe. I think Spurs fans will need to get behind Ange, this will be a big season for Tottenham in terms of recruitment and getting back to the Champions League positions where the money and power is.

FAREWELL

Hi everyone, it’s Jason McAteer, I just like to share this message, it has been an absolute joy working with LV BET over the last two seasons as an ambassador, I loved covering the Euros and obviously the FIFA World Cup in Winter was a great experience. Sharing my tips and views and some might say my lack of knowledge with everybody out there, it’s been an absolute pleasure. I wish everyone moving forward lots of luck and take care.
