Two juggernauts of European football take on each other in the quarter-finals. The draw placed the household names of the Champions League on one side with the likes of City, Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Real Madrid fighting for a place in the UCL Final.
Each team has its own strengths but in this tie in particular, we are in store for an epic battle between the two. Bayern Munich has enjoyed a perfect record in the Champions League this season, knocking Barcelona out of the group stage, whilst Man City are playing some scintillating football and hopes are sky high after emphatically winning against RB Leipzig with an aggregate score of 8-1.

MAN CITY
Pep Guardiola and his Manchester City side have come agonisingly close to the club’s first-ever Champions League title in 2020/21 campaign. This time around, they have a formidable striker on whom they can rely if they find themselves in a sticky situation. Erling Haaland has taken the Champions League goal scoring charts by storm ever since his debut with RB Salzburg, with no signs of slowing down—evidence of this was against RB Leipzig when he scored five.
City has great squad depth, which allows them to have various options for each position, and this suits the way Guardiola operates. The Spanish coach rarely fields the same eleven players in consecutive matches, as he chops and changes depending on the strengths and weaknesses of the opposing team. Up against his former employers, Pep might be wary of their pace behind his defensive line, with Leroy Sane and Sadio Mane both able to cause trouble to Nathan Ake, Reuben Dias and John Stones.
Another factor that might put Man City at a disadvantage is Joao Cancelo, his move to Germany might help the team set up shop in a way to frustrate the efforts of the Sky Blues. Thomas Tuchel has already tarnished the dream of winning the Champions League for City fans, now that he is in charge of Bayern, he will be looking to do the same again.
We are expecting a very tight match between the two, where they size up each other in the first half and City might force the issue more in the second half. Thus, LV BET is pricing that there will be the most goals in the second half of the game at 1.98. Under 2.50 goals is valued at 2.25, and a City clean sheet comes in at 3.25.
BAYERN MUNICH
A lot of rumours are circulating around the club at the moment, some stating that the dressing room is split regarding the decision to sack Julien Nagelsmann. The track record of the young German coach with Bayern has been good enough to warrant him to see off the season, but Bayern’s board did not want to lose the chance to recruit Thomas Tuchel for the second time.
In the round of 16, especially at the Allianz arena, Bayern Munich showed great class to neutralise the threat from PSG, and it’s safe to say they dominated the game. The midfield trio of Muller, Goretzka and Kimmich were exceptional and on their day, it’s very difficult to zip past them. Thomas Tuchel is a proven winner with Chelsea, and Bayern would hope that the experience of the German coach in England would put him in an ideal position to secure a semi-final spot in a highly competitive pool of teams.
Defensively, Bayern Munich haven’t been really tested but the biggest test yet will be against City’s Haaland. We are pricing Bayern to score first in the game at 2.32, with a draw and over 1.50 goals at 3.80
MATCH ODDS
Manchester City are the favourites priced at 1.90, whilst Bayern Munich are at 3.70 and a draw valued at 3.75
