Champions League

A very intriguing and promising tie between Eintracht Frankfurt and Napoli, making it the first time that these two teams have met in the Champions League. Both teams have emerged from very competitive groups, with Napoli just edging Liverpool for the top spot whilst Eintracht Frankfurt’s bid to steal the top spot from Spurs was thwarted after the English side recovered to win their game.

Fresh from winning their first European title in 40 years, the German outfit is looking very competitive now in the Champions League, where the level is higher than that in the Europa League. Finishing second in the group is not ideal for an ambitious team like Eintracht Frankfurt as it gives them tough opponents like Napoli. Oliver Glasner won’t shy away from a bigger team, as we saw when they played against Tottenham Hotspurs in the group stage, where they managed to get a draw at home but failed to hold onto the result away from home, losing 3-2.

The dynamic of the games now takes a twist due to the knockout nature of the tie, and that might throw caution to the wind for the German team as they try and put Napoli in a spot of bother, especially away from home. Eintracht Frankfurt and their vociferous fans will do their utmost to unsettle the away team come matchday.

Shifting our focus to betting tips, we are pricing the German side to score the first goal of the match at 21/20 (2.05), with Frankfurt to win the game at 9/5 (2.80). We expect a very competitive and combative match, with most of the play being held in the middle of the pitch. Thus we are pricing under 2.50 goals to be scored at the Deutsche Bank Park at 7/6 (2.17).

A very entertaining team to watch, especially in the Champions League; the squad has been performing well in the competition of late, but this time, winning the group and beating Liverpool 4-1 would surely give them great confidence to advance in the competition. Luciano Spalletti looks to have a very dynamic and fluid team, with the likes of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Victor Osimhen running riot in the attack.

Another aspect that has helped their progress in both the Champions League and the Serie A is that they are a tough team to break down, conceding just six goals in the group stage and amassing 20 goals in favour in the six games played – the most out of all the other teams in the group stage. We are pricing Napoli to win the game at 14/9 (2.55), and a correct score of 3-1 for the Italian side is priced at 35/4 (9.75)

Eyes will be on Napoli as they are expected to make it to the quarter-finals as they measure up to 3/8 (1.38) with Napoli to finish in the top four of the competition valued at 9/4 (3.25)
