EUROPA LEAGUE: QUARTER-FINALS – FEYENOORD V ROMA

Europa League

The finalists of the UEFA Conference League meet again, this time in the Europa League quarter-finals. Feyenoord surprised us by putting seven past Shakhtar Donetsk, placing them in a European quarter-final against a very solid Roma side who have Jose Mourinho as their manager. Mourinho is well known for his cup success, but his team is yet to make that leap forward that will make them a force to be reckoned with both in Serie A and in Europe.

Join us as we look forward to the first leg of the tie, which will be played at De Kuip, to benefit from outstanding betting odds. We will post match previews for every game until the Final on our LV BET Sports Blog and our Twitter page.

FEYENOORD

The Dutch club is having a fantastic season so far, currently on top of the Eredivisie and making good strides in Europe as well. They only suffered one defeat in 26 games in the league and participated in one of the most competitive groups in Europa League history, with all teams finishing with eight points—Feyenoord clinching first place only on goal difference. They are also 18 games unbeaten in all competitions, giving them great confidence.

Home advantage will play a huge role in the tie, with both sets of fans extremely vocal in their support. The Dutch fans will expect a better showing against Roma than in last season’s Conference League final, where they looked second-best, so the first game will be crucial for their progress to the semi-final. We are pricing over 2.50 goals at 2.30, whilst both teams to score is at 1.90

The danger man on Arne Slot’s side is Santiago Gimenez; the young Mexican forward scored five in his last seven games in the Europa League. He will surely prove to be a handful for Chris Smalling and Roger Ibanez.

ROMA

AS Roma will have fond memories of playing against Feyenoord, as last season they managed to win their first European title under Jose Mourinho. As with any other Jose Mourinho team, Roma are a hard nut to crack defensively, but lately, they are struggling to get amongst the goals with the likes of Tammy Abraham and Andrea Belotti struggling to find form – Belotti scored three in Europa League, and Abraham only scored one.

Roma has struggled to overcome that last hurdle and make the step into the Champions League places this season, with losses against Cremonese and Sassuolo as the most recent ones. Going to the later stages of the Europa League could reap great financial rewards that will help the team build for next season should they manage to get into the Champions League. We are pricing a correct score of 2-0 for Roma at 9.75, with a half-time result of a draw at 2.00. .

MATCH ODDS

Feyenoord are the slight favourites going into the game priced at 2.35, with AS Roma at 2.85 to win away from home and a draw valued at 3.20
