Barcelona vs Napoli

The highly anticipated match-up between Barcelona and Napoli is sure to catch the eye come Thursday.

Barcelona have drastically improved their team since the draw, with various signings in the form of Adama Traore – who has impressed since joining, Aubameyang, Ferran Torres and also fan-favourite Dani Alves. Barcelona are now up to fourth in La Liga putting them in a strong position to get into next year’s Champions League, the best that they can hope for after a dreadful first half of the season.

In recent fixtures, the Catalan side, enjoyed a 4-2 victory over Atletico Madrid, boosting the team’s overall confidence and morale heading into the late stages of the campaign. The only previous meeting between the two in a major European competition, saw Barcelona eliminate the Italians at the Round 16 Stage of the Champions League back in 2019-20.

Napoli are currently third in the Serie A, where they are chasing Inter and Milan for their first scudetto in 30 years. The last fixture they have played was against Italian champions Inter, where they drew 1-1 after dominating the game but falling short to capitalise on chances. Napoli coach Spalletti will be hoping that his team will put away chances when they present themselves on Thursday. The best aspect of Napoli this season is their stout defence as they have conceded the least amount of goals of all teams in Serie A.

Barcelona are the favourites to win at the Nou Camp with a victory priced at 1/1 (2.00), while a Napoli win is at 20/7 (3.85).

Dortmund vs Rangers

Dortmund who are second in the Bundesliga, have struggled in recent games. The German side has recently lost against Bayern Leverkusen (4-2), got kicked out of the German Cup by St. Pauli and were also eliminated from the Champions League after falling short to group winners Ajax and runner-up Sporting. Come this Thursday, Dortmund will also be without superstar Erling Haaland as he is out injured after suffering a muscle injury.

Rangers, on the other hand, are on a three-game winning streak without conceding a goal, which sees them occupying second place in the Scottish Premiership. This will be the first time that the teams will be meeting in a European Competition. French defender Raphael Guerreiro pointed out that ‘Morelos will be the reference point’ that will be targeted by the Germans.

Borussia Dortmund are the favourites at the Signal Iduna Park at 2/5 (1.40) to win, whilst Rangers are priced at 7/1 (8.00), to take the victory in the first leg.

RB Leipzig vs Real Sociedad

RB Leipzig have rediscovered their devastating attacking flair since Domenico Tedesco took the helm. Die Roten Bullen rank fourth in the Bundesliga tied on points with Hoffenheim but ahead on goal difference. Christopher Nkunku has been on blistering form scoring 19 goals in 31 competitive outings.

Similarly, Real Sociedad are in good form losing just once since the turn of the year, drawing three and winning four. The Spanish side also boasts a fearsome attacking force in the form of Alexander Isak, David Silva and top scorer Mikel Oyarzabal.

The meeting on Thursday will be the very first time that both clubs face each other with Real Sociedad having been eliminated from each of their last four knockout stage ties in major European competition, most recently against Manchester United at the Round of 32 Stage of the same competition last season.

Leipzig who are the favourites are priced at 6/7 (1.85) to win, with Real Sociedad at 13/4 (4.25), to be victorious on German soil.
