BRITISH GP PREVIEW

British GP

A race that has everyone looking forward to every year, is the British GP, and LV BET is here to give the latest information about upgrades, what can we expect to happen come Sunday and the best betting odds available on the event.

Last week, we enjoyed a competitive sprint weekend, where McLaren and Ferrari looked particularly strong, whilst Mercedes and their customers Aston Martin were off the pace, mainly caused by the track layout. Join us on LV BET Sports Blog for more things about Formula 1.

LAST TIME OUT

Another dominant display by Max Verstappen as he sailed into the distance after the opening few laps. The entertainment came from the cars behind as the Ferrari roared back and managed to for a brief moment keep pace with the Red Bull. Charles Leclerc had a great race when compared to other weekends, a somewhat straightforward P2 is the best he could ask for this season. The same could not be said about Carlos Sainz as he struggled to keep his car within the white lines and got demoted after the race had ended.

McLaren also enjoyed a great race, especially Lando Norris, who is leading the charge in terms of points, getting 24 out of the team’s 29 points tally. It will be difficult to see a sustained run at the top of the grid for McLaren but the signs of progress are clear.

Both Mercedes and Aston Martin struggled for performance at Spielberg, but both are confident that it was only track specific and for the upcoming races they are where they want to be. Mercedes are looking into getting another upgrade package ready and on the car for this weekend, and should it translate into the desired pace they should be challenging the podium places more frequently.

RACE WINNERS

This season, when you talk about who will win a race in Formula 1, the undeniable response is Max Verstappen, with the off chance of Sergio Perez. Red Bull haven’t been on the top step of the podium at Silverstone since 2012, so should they win this weekend, they would alleviate an unwelcome winless streak. Max Verstappen is odds on to win at 1.33, with Sergio Perez coming in at 8.00. Fan favourite, Lewis Hamilton is the one that is extracting the most out of his Mercedes and he is at 13.00 to win, whilst Fernando Alonso is at 15.00.

PODIUM FINISHERS

With an upgrade package on the way, Ferrari are looking on the up with Charles Leclerc priced at 2.25 to get onto the podium again. Lando Norris is at 13.00 to get onto the podium, with former teammate Carlos Sainz at 4.35.

CARS BETTING

  • Max Verstappen to win the qualifying and race at 1.40
  • A red flag during the race at 3.30
  • Oscar Piastri to finish in the points at 2.75
