EMILIA ROMAGNA GP: PREVIEW

EMILIA ROMAGNA GP: PREVIEW

Imola GP

After a small break, we return to the world of Formula 1. We left things off at Miami with a Max Verstappen win despite starting further down the order than usual. The Dutchman now has a 14-point gap between teammate Sergio Perez and the first non-Red Bull car in the standings is Fernando Alonso, who always seems to find his way to third place this season with 75 points.

Teams will be eyeing this upcoming weekend as a means to fix some of the issues they faced in the opening few races by introducing new packages onto the cars, namely, Mercedes. Make sure to visit the LV BET Sports Blog for more information about the upcoming race weekend and outstanding betting tips to spice up the Sunday race.

RACE WINNERS

Racing on an Italian track always brings excitement as the nation is wild about the sport. The nature-surrounded track offers some tricky challenges for drivers, especially the last chicane leading up to the last two left-handers. In previous years, we saw drivers trying to ride the curbs, with most of them either suffering minor underfloor damage or bottoming out into a barrier.

In terms of who is expected to lead the timing charts in qualifying and in the race, it’s hard to look past Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez. Both of them have been on great form, understanding their car and testing it’s limits. Max Verstappen is priced at 1.40, whilst Sergio Perez is at 3.75. The closest rival is Fernando Alonso, who is valued at 15.00 to win in Italy. The well-voiced upgrade package coming to Mercedes puts Lewis Hamilton at 21.00 to get his first win this season.

PODIUM FINISHERS

Ferrari are off the pace this year, prompting Christian Horner to highlight that they took the normal step up but competitors such as Ferrari and Mercedes fell off, and that is why there is a huge disparity between their respective car performance. Since the beginning of the season, Red Bull looked dominant. It would be nearly impossible for any team to overcome that advantage whilst operating under the budget cap. That being said, the podium finish would either go to Fernando Alonso, who is priced at 1.72, or to whoever can push the most from either Ferrari or Mercedes. Charles Leclerc is valued at 2.75, with Hamilton at 2.60 and George Russell coming in at 3.50 to spray champagne on Sunday.

CARS BETTING

  • Alpine’s both cars to finish in the points at 2.05
  • Haas to be the first car to retire at 7.50
  • Ferrari car to be on pole position at 3.40
