FORMULA 1: BELGIAN GP PREVIEW

FORMULA 1: BELGIAN GP PREVIEW

Belgian GP Preview

After a somewhat stale Hungarian GP with most of the battles being done in the paddock in terms of strategy and not much action on the track we now look forward to the Belgian GP. The iconic Spa Francorchamps is the longest circuit in the calendar and due to the nature of the track, cars that performed well at Silverstone will have another opportunity to showcase their speed this weekend. Another added element, adding to the excitement is the sprint. A small race done on Saturday, leaving teams with just one practice session to prepare their setup.

RACE WINNERS

Leading the championship by a country mile, Max Verstappen is at 1.33, to win and extend the win streak record of Red Bull to 13 races in a row. As the track layout favours cars that have done well in Silverstone, we might see another spectacular race from both Mercedes and McLaren. Interestingly Lando Norris is the second favourite to take the chequered flag on Sunday priced at 11.00, with Lewis Hamilton at 13.00 to get his first win this season. Both cars have recently shown a drastic improvement, whilst the Aston Martin of Fernando Alonso slipped down the pecking order.

Ferrari are going down a slippery slope as now even Mercedes overtook them in the expected standings. There is a feeling around the team that if there are no mistakes done on the pit wall, there will be some in a pit stop, and if not during a pit, either of the drivers will make one. They are enduring an awful season after a very promising one where they won a couple of races, but that progress is now unrecognisable.

PODIUM FINISHERS

Sergio Perez has had a good race finishing third in Hungary, and he is priced at 1.72 to finish on the podium once again. Oscar Piastri has enjoyed his debut season, and his maturity at the wheel has been impressive, at the start in Hungary as he slotted into second place after taking the inside of Lewis Hamilton. Piastri is priced at 4.00, whilst Lewis Hamilton is at 2.50 to spray champagne at the end of the Grand Prix.

CARS BETTING

  • Red Bull to have the fastest pit stop at 1.72
  • Aston Martin to have both cars finish in the points at 2.60
  • Ferrari to have both cars in the top six at 3.75
