FORMULA 1 EMILIA ROMAGNA GP: BETTING TIPS

RACE WINNERS

Charles Leclerc – Championship leader Carles Leclerc will be buzzing after the win in Australia, especially with his main rival Max Verstappen yet again unable to finish the race and handing the Monagesque driver a 34-point lead. Although Ferrari know that they are not the fastest car in a straight line, they have built a well-balanced car able to handle both high-speed and low-speed corners – not to mention it’s outright reliability. Leclerc is priced at 11/10 (2.10) to take the win in Italy, giving his team the first win on Italian soil  since his victory at Monza in 2019.

Max Verstappen – The Dutch champion has had a torrid start to the season as reliability is once again the weakness for the Red Bull car. Max voiced his concern after stopping his vehicle when his engine overheated last time out in Australia. Christian Horner knows that his team put together a fast car capable of winning races, making the even situation more frustrating. Despite all the trouble in previous races, we are pricing the reigning champion, Max, at 7/4 (2.75) to take his second win of the season, with recent news from Honda announcing that they have solved some problems from their end.

Carlos Sainz – After a weekend to forget in Australia, the Spaniard will need to gather his thoughts and focus on the task ahead if he wishes to be on the tail of his teammate. Ferrari announced that they do not have any plans on bringing significant upgrades for this weekend. Carlos Sainz has to come to terms with the new changes to his car to mount a challenge in both Championships. We are pricing the Spaniard at 13/2 (7.50) to win the Imola GP and get a good tally of points on his board.

TOP 3 FINISHERS

Lewis Hamilton – Despite not being on the podium in Australia, Mercedes showed that they are not to be discounted with excellent performance and solid race pace. The Mercedes team are working hard to push upgrades onto the car as soon as possible in an effort to get their drivers to the top spots of the podium. It has been one of the longest stretches since a Mercedes driver won a race since the hybrid era began. Lewis Hamilton is priced at 2/1 (3.00) to get onto the top three steps this weekend.

Fernando Alonso – The Spaniard was on a blistering lap in qualifying, but a hydraulic fault sent him crashing into the barriers which characterised his weekend. Alonso had a great pace but ultimately finished last among those who completed the race – which is unfortunate. We are pricing Fernando at 12/1 (13.00) to get into the top three this weekend, with Alpine being expected to get upgrades onto the car, boosting performance.
