SAUDI ARABIAN GRAND PRIX – BETTING TIPS

Saudi Arabian GP

It’s time to go motor racing as the lights go out at the Jeddah circuit for the second race of the season. Red Bull had a fantastic race in Bahrain, securing their first one-two finish of the season; they look dominant at this early stage; the same cannot be said for Mercedes as they were beaten by their customers, Aston Martin, when Alonso finished third and got a well-deserved podium finish. Disaster struck once again for Leclerc and Ferrari as a mechanical issue ended his race prematurely, whilst McLaren and Alpine’s Ocon had a horror day on track.

Join us as we run through some of the scenarios we might potentially encounter this weekend when the grid travel to Saudi Arabia. Make sure to visit the LV BET Sports Blog for more information about your favourite sport whilst also following us on Twitter where we will be posting live updates on the race.

Race Winners

After a commanding victory in the first race, few could bet against the reigning World Champion to win again at Jeddah. Max Verstappen is priced at 1/2 (1.50) to make it two from two; many commentators of the sport are dubbing a dominant season for Red Bull and stating that Max Verstappen will win every race of the year. A good start as well for teammate Sergio Perez who is priced at 10/1 (11.00) to win in Jeddah, we all know what the Mexican is capable of in street circuits. The hype train at Aston Martin is in full swing with Fernando Alonso to win the race at 8/1 (9.00), after securing a podium finish in the desert.

Qualifying Winners

The pace in qualifying might not be a strong suit for Red Bull; Ferrari could potentially threaten pole position with the high downforce setup that they normally run. Despite everything else, Max Verstappen is favoured to get pole position as he is priced at 6/5 (2.20), whilst Charles Leclerc is at 9/4 (3.25), to snatch pole. Sergio Perez, on the other side of the Red Bull garage, is valued at 11/2 (6.50) to start on pole and potentially give us a title fight that we so dearly want.

Podium Finishers

The Jeddah circuit is a very tricky place to race, with high speeds and very fast cornering speeds, safety cars could play a crucial part in the race, should any driver bin it. Reliability issues have stunted the progress of Ferrari, but we are pricing Carlos Sainz to get on the podium at 3/1 (4.00). Despite the downbeat mood at Mercedes and Toto Wolf being vocal at their lack of performance compared to the other teams, one should never rule out the chances of a Lewis Hamilton masterclass. One of the most experienced drivers on the grid could prove to be the secret ingredient this weekend, Hamilton to spray champagne in Saudi is priced at 7/2 (4.50). Alonso was the main man in Bahrain, providing us with the entertainment, overtaking and ultimately, the wholesome joy of seeing him compete at the highest level in Formula 1. We are pricing Fernando Alonso to be on the podium again at 6/7 (1.85)
