FIFA WORLD CUP: FRANCE V DENMARK – GAME PREVIEW

FIFA WORLD CUP: FRANCE V DENMARK – GAME PREVIEW

France V Denmark

Reigning World Cup champions are back in action in Group D as they take on Denmark at the Stadium 974. Didier Dechamp’s team managed to overturn a surprise lead by Australia to come out 4-1 winners on the night. Denmark on the other hand have drawn against Tunisia, who offered stern enough opposition to  nullifying the Danish attacks.

In the FIFA rankings, France are ranked in fourth place whilst Denmark are in tenth place. They are no strangers to each other as they recently played in the Nations League when Denmark managed to win both ties 2-0 and 2-1. Although in the World Cup, France have looked to have gone through their gears, especially in the second half against Australia and the football on display was pretty good.

FRANCE

The pressure is always on the reigning champions to see how well they are going to do after their success. It hasn’t been an easy ride for them for sure with many players suffering injuries prior and during the tournament. Karim Benzema and Lucas Hernandez look to be unavailable due to injury but their replacements are more than capable to do the job as seen in the first game.

As mentioned before, France has faced Denmark earlier this year but failed to win both games. This gives a psychological disadvantage to the French players, knowing that they are up against a very solid team that has the quality to deal serious damage. Young midfielder Tchouameni impressed in his first game in the World Cup at just 22 years of age, giving his coach great confidence, knowing that he can rely on his abilities at this level.

With the early win now sealed, France look to seal of qualification to the knockout stages by winning against Denmark and LV BET is pricing a 2-1 victory for the reigning champions at 7/1 (8.00) with Oliver Grioud to score anytime during the game at 2/1 (3.00).

DENMARK

The draw against Tunisia might have come as a surprise for some but a point blanc miss from Andreas Cornelius has proven to be vital. Kasper Schmeichel also produced some spectacular saves to keep the score level and his clean sheet intact.

The previous results against France will give great confidence to Denmark knowing that they will come up against a team that they beat not long ago, both home and away. Something that they need to avoid is defeat as that would damage their chances of getting through to the knockout stages if Tunisia get a result against Australia. It’s a very tricky situation to manouvere when you only have three games to play.

LV BET is pricing the Danish squad to have the quality to handle the firepower of the French and beat them by a 1-0 scoreline at 15/2 (8.50). Kasper Dolberg to score anytime during the match at 9/2 (5.50)

Match betting odds

Despite losing both fixtures against Denmark in the Nations League, France are the favourites to win at 3/4 (1.75), whilst Denmark are valued at 30/7 (5.30) and a draw at 8/3 (3.65)
