Group C Review
Group C offered a great spectacle till the very end, with drama in both matches late on. The group consisted of Argentina, Poland, Mexico and Saudi Arabia. Going through in first place was Argentina, who recovered well after a shock defeat against Saudi Arabia, with Poland going through on goal difference, leaving out Mexico, who put up a great fight but conceded a goal late on, which was the difference at the end.
Argentina
One of the main contenders to go on and lift the trophy, Argentina got off to a rough start but recovered well, winning the other two matches with identical scorelines of 2-0. In the way of the Albiceleste is Australia, who finished second in their group, somewhat of a surprise.
Argentina is priced at 1/100 (1.01) to qualify for the next knockout stage.
Having such depth in quality gives great confidence that they can overcome any adversity that they are faced with to both the players and coaching staff. Having Lionel Messi is key to how Argentina build up their play, with Julian Alvarez impressing when called upon.
Argentina is priced at 4/7 (1.57) to win to nil against Australia, with Lionel Messi to score anytime during the match at 13/25 (1.52)
Poland
The Polish team lost their last game against Argentina and showed little interest in going forward knowing that they had goal difference in their favour. Now Poland faces 2018 FIFA World Cup winners France. A tough task for Poland, but football can provide great stories.
Poland to qualify for the next knockout stage at 27/4 (7.75).
The lack of pace in the defensive areas might be a problem when coming up against pacey wingers such as Ousmane Dembele and Kylian Mbappe. Another aspect of the game that they need to work on is linking up play with Robert Lewandowski, who, despite scoring his first FIFA World Cup goal he has underperformed, considering his great start with FC Barcelona.
Poland to score the first goal of the game at 21/5 (5.20) with Robert Lewandowski to score anytime during the game at 9/4 (3.25)
