Another group comes to a close from the FIFA World Cup as Poland takes on Argentina in their respective final fixture in Group C. Stadium 974 will take centre stage as two icons of the sport take to the field for their countries hopes of getting into the knockout stage – Robert Lewandowski and Lionel Messi.
In the FIFA rankings, Argentina is up there with the best in third place, whilst Poland is in 26th place after a couple of disappointing tournaments. These two countries have met twice before on the FIFA World Cup stage, once in 1974 when Poland won 3-2, and later met in 1978 when Argentina won convincingly with a scoreline of 2-0.

POLAND
Poland finds themselves top of the group with four points to their name after their professional display against Saudi Arabia. Robert Lewandowski scored his first goal in the FIFA World Cup after he stole the ball from the Saudi centre-back. The defence of Poland is yet to concede a goal which is a very positive aspect from the first two games, but they face one of the best-attacking forces in the tournament next.
As the normal formation for Poland is three at the back, things might be more tricky for them against Argentina, as both Matty Cash and Przemyslaw Frankowski need to tuck back and help their defence more than usual. Going forward, Poland has built up more from the left-hand side of the pitch and through the link-up play between Zielinski and Lewandowski to break through defences.
A 2-1 victory for Poland is priced at 11/1 (12.00) with Robert Lewandowski to score anytime during the game at 17/9 (2.90)
ARGENTINA
Lionel Scaloni’s team came away with a very important victory over Mexico last time out thanks to their trusty talisman Lionel Messi. The low block from Mexico prevented a run from behind, which both Angel Di Maria and Lautaro Martinez did so diligently against Saudi Arabia. When you have Lionel Messi, anything is possible, and a shot from outside the box caught the Mexican backline by surprise and forced them to throw caution to the wind, leading to Argentina’s second goal. We are expecting a similar tactic from Poland as they will try and hold onto a draw and hit Argentina on the counter-attack.
The only change from the starting lineup against Saudi Arabia was Lisandro Martinez instead of Cristian Romero and he looked very assured when defending and when playing out from the back. It will be a question of when Argentina will score in this game; finding one early on will relax their players as they would then look to push for more.
LV BET is pricing a comfortable result of 3-0 against Poland at 24/5 (5.80), with Lionel Messi to score in the match at 4/5 (1.80).
