EUROPA LEAGUE ROUND OF 16: BETTING TIPS

ATALANTA VS BAYERN LEVERKUSEN

In their last outing, Atalanta fell to a triumphant Roma side, 1-0, away from home and find themselves in fifth place in Serie A. Form in recent games has dipped since failing to win three from their last five games. Striker Duvan Zapata and Luis Muriel have looked off it lately, with most of Atalanta’s goals coming from other sources such as Ruslan Malinovskyi, who netted a brace last time out against Olympiakos.

Leverkusen occupies third place in the Bundesliga as they drew against Bayern Munich in their previous game, a result which should give them confidence for the games ahead. Patrik Schick is the main man upfront for the German side, boasting an incredible goal scoring record of 20 goals in as many appearances. Gerardo Seoane’s side has lacked the defensive stability he likes as they are without a clean sheet in their last 11 away matches across all competitions.

Atalanta line up at 49/50 (1.98) to win, as they host Bayern Leverkusen who are at 14/5 (3.80), and a draw at 27/10 (3.70).

FC SEVILLA VS WEST HAM UNITED

Sevilla are on an unbeaten run of five games and occupy second place in La Liga, chasing down Real Madrid. Julien Lopetegui’s side prides itself as having the best defence in the division with only 18 goals conceded this season, proving to be a difficult team for oppositions to score against.

West Ham have fallen off the trajectory to achieve Champions League football next season with draws against Leicester City and Newcastle. Last time out the Hammers lost against Liverpool but carved out some good chances that lacked the finishing touch. David Moyes has to mitigate the injury of Jarrod Bowen as he limped off at Anfield but will have midfielder Declan Rice back just in time.

FC Sevilla are priced at 23/20 (2.15) to win, whilst West Ham United are at 61/20 (4.05), and a draw is priced at 21/10 (3.10).

PORTO VS LYON

Porto stand first in the Primeira Liga as they are unbeaten and sitting six points clear at the summit. After elimination from the Champions League group stage, the Dragons put together an impressive 18-game unbeaten run across all competitions. Spirits will be understandably high amongst the Porto camp, but they cannot underestimate their midweek opponents, who have excelled in this season’s Europa League.

On the other hand, Lyon haven’t enjoyed a great season after clinching the league title last year; they find themselves in ninth and 19 points behind league leaders Paris Saint-Germain. Despite their woes in the French league, Les Gones managed to rank an impressive five wins and a draw in the group stages of the Europa League. Peter Bosz’s men have performed well away from home in the Europa League – winning all three and scoring nine goals in the process, giving them more confidence in securing a positive result on Wednesday.

Porto who are at 21/20 (2.05), play host to Lyon at 20/7 (3.85), and a draw at 22/9 (3.45)

REAL BETIS VS EINTRACHT FRANKFURT

Real Betis have been struggling to find form in their last couple of games, failing to win any of their last four matches across all competitions. Currently fifth in La Liga, Los Verdiblancos are competing on all fronts, both in the Europa League and the Copa del Rey, with a final against Valencia on the horizon. Pellegrini’s men finished second in the group stages with 10 points before beating Zenit St Petersburg 3-2 on aggregate in the playoff round. Betis will be looking to win their first match against German opposition since 1995-96, when they face Frankfurt in midweek.

Eintracht Frankfurt have also endured an inconsistent season, as they occupy 10th whilst losing three from the last five games played. Contrasting the form that the Eagles have shown in the Europa League, Oliver Glasner’s side were amongst the teams that managed to go through the group stage without a single defeat.  Over two legs, Eintracht Frankfurt fans will be confident that their side have what it takes to progress to the next stage of the competition, having done so in five of their seven last 16 ties in European competitions.

Real Betis are priced at 9/10 (1.90), whilst Eintracht Frankfurt are at 63/20 (4.15), and a draw at 11/4 (3.75).
