JASON MCATEER: PREMIRE LEAGUE PICKS

JASON MCATEER: PREMIRE LEAGUE PICKS

LEEDS VS CHELSEA

Good start from Jessie March, good first game, good win and a draw, he will be slightly disappointed to give away a two-goal lead at the weekend, but they are showing signs of losing players.

They are showing signs of actually staying in the Premier League, a challenge that he will be happy with. He has gotten a goal scorer in Rodrigo.

As we have seen, they will relish the challenge at the weekend against Chelsea. Chelsea has been a difficult start for them, getting it over the line only just against Everton and obviously the game against Tottenham with a lot of talking points, how Antonio Conte conducted himself in front of Thomas Tuchel. I really enjoyed it.

I thought it was great for the game; it was great to show passion and desire from the managers it all filtered through.

I just think for the game. It’s a step of quality too far for Jessie March’s men. I am gonna go for a Chelsea win.

  • Chelsea to beat Leeds is available at 5/9.

NEWCASTLE VS MANCHESTER CITY

Both teams will be happy with their starts, Eddie how is doing it slightly differently than we thought. We thought there would be a marquee, glamour, ‘Galacticos’ signings coming to Newcastle with all the money they have in their back pocket.

For me, he is doing it well; he has added and added very subtly, with players that fit into his philosophy and how he wants to play, and it’s working out; he has got a very harmonious dressing room; there is excitement up there, and as we know Newcastle is a very tough place to go once it starts snowballing once the confidence starts growing, so I wouldn’t write them out of the game although Manchester City for me they looked a little bit off in the Community Shield against Liverpool and I was a little bit worried for them it’s daft to write them off.

They have picked up from where they left off last season; they had been absolutely outstanding with the win last weekend. Sitting on top of the table and telling all the others to come and chase us down if you can. So many options for Pep, Haaland, who hasn’t been so prolific since coming. For me I never thought he was coming to the Premier League and scoring a vast amount of goals in the first few games. He might prove me wrong over the weekend and get a hat trick.

I am gonna go for a very, very narrow win for Manchester City against Newcastle.

  • Manchester City to win with under 1.5 goals scored is available at 5/1

MANCHESTER UNITED VS LIVERPOOL

The pressure is on every manager – certainly it’s on Ten Hag losing his job should he succumb to a heavy Liverpool defeat, and that is on the card, in all honesty.

No one knows what team he is going to pick. I am not sure he knows what team he is going to pick, which is always a problem, especially when you are going into a game where Liverpool have had a disappointing start, but there were good signs, especially against Crystal Palace.

The intention is there, the attitude is there, and the mentality is there.

Coming back from behind twice to take a couple of points and playing with 10-men against Palace. I would be worried for Ten Hag. It could be four or five. He will be looking for a response. As we read, he’s brought them in training and trying to stamp his authority, so he will be looking for a response, but so is Jurgen Klopp. Liverpool will have some players out of the treatment room. There will be more players available.

I am actually going to go for a Liverpool win, it could be three or four, and I can’t see Manchester United scoring, so I am gonna go for a 0 for United, and I am going for a three-nil victory for Liverpool.

  • A Liverpool 3-0 win vs Manchester United is available at 11/1.
