REAL MADRID 2023/24 SEASON PREVIEW

REAL MADRID 2023/24 SEASON PREVIEW

Real Madrid Season Preview

Real Madrid rarely approach the new season as the underdogs to win silverware. Their pedigree is such that they are capable of winning any title they set their mind to. Last year, they did not manage to challenge Barcelona in La Liga as they faltered too much in the opening stages of the league, giving their rivals room to stretch the lead and be comfortable. This time around, Real Madrid are keen on reclaiming the title of Champions of Spain.

CARLO’S LAST HURRAH?

The squad is far from optimal to compete on all fronts, after Karim Benzema ended his run at Real Madrid. Los Blancos had to turn to Joselu in order to slot in and step in and produce the goals needed and that fans are so accustomed to. Obviously, the highlight of the transfer market for Real Madrid was the push for Jude Bellingham. The English midfielder is one of the best in his position, showcasing great maturity at his age, with bags of talent to go with it.

It is being reported that Carlo Ancelotti is far from happy with his squad, there are gaps that could worsen should injuries creep in. Florentino Perez might be more focused on bringing Kylian Mbappe over than investing in the present squad. That would be the ideal project, and should they succeed in their pursuit of the Frenchman, they would assemble a mammoth squad that could once again dominate Europe.

The Italian coach is also reported to be close to becoming the next Brazilian national team coach. This rumour has been doing the rounds and it wouldn’t do any good for Carlo or the players as a distraction.

LA LIGA PREDICTION

As we have discussed in the Barcelona season preview, there are only two teams who are well equipped to win La Liga, with the off chance that Atletico Madrid challenges the order. Real Madrid are priced at 2.00, with FC Barcelona the only other team that can realistically pose a threat who are at 2.40. Another disappointing season where they come up short against Barcelona would be unacceptable for Madrid.

The midfield is looking stacked with, Bellingham, Tchuoameni, Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Camavinga and Brahim Diaz, who is returning after a successful spell with AC Milan. We are looking forward to a great season from Real Madrid, and we are pricing a win against Atletic Bilbao at 2.15
