EURO QUALIFIERS 2024

EURO QUALIFIERS 2024

Euro 2024 Qualifiers

The top national teams in Europe compete once again in the first international break this season. After the first handful of games with their respective clubs, players come together in their international camp to represent their country for a chance to compete at the highest level. The main focus in this blog will be Scotland, who are running away with Group A, after four straight wins beating Spain and Norway in the process.

CYPRUS V SCOTLAND

Bottom meets top as Cyprus hosts surprise leaders of Group A. Scotland has stolen the headlines in these qualifiers after grinding out a result against Spain and coming from behind against Norway a couple of days after. Cyprus, on the other hand, had a tough start to these qualifiers after suffering three straight defeats. In the reverse fixture, it was all about Scotland, a double from Scott McTominay, who is leading the goalscoring charts.

Cyprus will need to buckle up, be calm in possession and be efficient with their chances, as they fell foul on the high press from Scotland last time they met. In terms of odds, Cyprus’s chances are dire as they are priced at 12.50 to stun Scotland and take their first points of these qualifiers. Scotland, on the other hand, are heavy favourites, coming in at 1.25.

The last three meetings between these two great footballing nations produced plenty of goals, and we are pricing over 2.50 at 1.75, with Scott McTominay to score anytime during the game at 4.35.

PORTUGAL V SLOVAKIA

The second game that we are going to focus on is the battle for supremacy in Group J. Portugal is leading the standings after four consecutive wins and impressively not conceding a single goal. This will be a golden opportunity for Roberto Martinez to confirm their place in the group stage of the Euro 2024. The new era under new management is looking great, especially defensively.

Sitting in second place after grinding out results against Iceland and Liechtenstein are Slovakia. They hope to frustrate the attacking force, especially after a blistering start to the new Saudi League from Cristiano Ronaldo. Being away from home is never easy, but the impressive wins they pulled of during this qualification have been mainly away from home, and their manager Francesco Calzona, will take great satisfaction from that fact.

The odds are stacked against Slovakia, as their chances of winning are at 7.75, whilst Portugal are at 1.40. The away team being the first team to score is valued at 3.70, with over 3.50 goals to be scored in the match at 3.20.

UKRAINE V ENGLAND

Closing off the top three games in the upcoming Euro qualifiers is the clash between Ukraine and England. Currently, England are leading the group after four comfortable wins, tallying up to 15 goals in total. Ukraine’s loss was against the Three Lions at Wembley, as Harry Kane and Bukayo Saka produced the goods for Gareth Southgate’s side.

England have lofty ambitions and look to make quick work from these qualifying games. Reaching the Final in the last Euro has been magical, but winning the tournament is what matters the most now. Ukraine suffered heartache as they lost out on a chance to compete at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar as Wales took their place.

England are in a great position to take three points, they are priced at 1.42 to win whilst Ukraine are at 7.75 to spring a surprise in Group C. Over 3.50 goals is priced at 3.20 and England to win to nil is at 2.30.
