FC BAYERN MUNICH VS PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN

Bayern V PSG

One of the biggest games in the upcoming Champions League knockout stage will be played out between Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain. These two teams have met each other before in the UEFA Champions League 2020 Final and in the quarter-finals a year later. These are two great sides that will give their best to progress to the next stage of the competition.

Join LV BET in this series of blogs where we are going into some detail about the Champions League round of 16 fixtures.

Bayern Munich

The German giants have kickstarted their Champions League campaign by going up against some tough opponents in the group stage: FC Barcelona and Inter. Boasting one of the best records in the group stage, winning all games and just conceding two goals in the process. Bayern Munich scored a total of 18, which is an impressive tally considering they have started the season without their main man Robert Lewandowski.

Jamal Musiala has been one of the biggest and brightest stars for Bayern during this season, causing trouble with his pace and silky skills. Bayern Munich has slightly changed their style of play. Now, they are concentrating on overloading the middle part of the pitch and trying to get into the box through intricate play. This tactic has given them the best results in the Champions League, and Nigelsmann hopes that it continues to bear fruit in his team’s upcoming matches.

Bayern Munich are the favourites to qualify for the next round of the Champions League at 5/7 (1.72), with Bayern Munich to win and over 3.50 goals at 5/1 (6.00). Bayern Munich, to score the first goal of the match, is priced at 49/50 (1.98).

Paris Saint-Germain

The French team are once again chasing their first title win in the Champions League and, as they have found out in previous years, doing so is no easy feat. This year, they have Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe all firing goals. Having such a talented attacking force might overwhelm teams and leave gaps, or so hope PSG fans. During the FIFA World Cup, Lionel Messi showed that he is pretty much still at his startling best, both at tucking away chances and creating them for his teammates.

The team has to be careful not to afford too many chances for Germans, as they are pretty clinical in front of goal. Confidence in the French camp will be high as they feel that this might be a very strong showing from their team. It will be the very first time that the FIFA World Cup has been played in between the UEFA Champions League group stage and the knockout phase, so it will be interesting to see the differences, if at all, from players.

Paris Saint-Germain is priced at 26/25 (2.03) to qualify for the quarter-finals, and at 24/5 (5.80) to win the home game without conceding a goal. A correct score of 2-1 for PSG is priced at 21/5 (5.20)

Betting Tips

PSG have a manager that has an unfortunate reputation for not always delivering on the club’s ambitions, whilst the club has that reputation in big European games, Bayern Munich is the opposite. Yet the reputation of previous accolades might not be something to go on in such big matches; Bayern Munich does have a relatively inexperienced manager in Julian Nagelsmann, especially when leading his side to a Champions League title.

We are favouring the German side to make it through to the next stage and pricing a 1-1 draw at the Parce de Prince at 18/5 (4.60).
