EURO 2024 QUALIFIERS: FRANCE V NETHERLANDS

Euro 2024 Qualifiers

Two big hitters are drawn against each other in Group B of the Euro 2024 Qualifiers. France, who missed out on winning the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, are brewing with talented players and should see themselves comfortably making it to the tournament; the same goes for the Netherlands. Last November we saw the Netherlands back in the mix against the best teams, and they faired well after a period of not qualifying for a major tournament.

FRANCE

We all know how the FIFA World Cup Final went down, a gallant effort from Kylian Mbappe resuscitated the French squad to extend the game to extra time. They are a team that isn’t easily trounced and with great players such as Tchouameni, Theo Hernandez, Eduardo Camavinga and Mbappe, they are set for the future as well.

We will see how Didier Deschamps will set up his team for the opening match of the qualifiers but there might be considerable changes to the squad after the FIFA World Cup. We might see new faces, injecting pace and creativity into the attacking phase.

France are the favourites to win, and we are pricing a 3-1 victory at 31/4 (8.75), with Kylian Mbappe to score anytime during the match at 3/4 (1.75).

NETHERLANDS

Ronald Koeman is in charge of the Oranje squad after taking over from Louis Van Gaal, who guided the team to a FIFA World Cup quarter-final. Both teams boast a very exciting lineup with a mix of both young and experienced players, such as Virgil van Dijk, Cody Gakpo, Frenkie de Jong, Xavi Simon, Noa Lang and Jurrien Timber.

The Netherlands will look at the upcoming Euro 2024 as a tournament where they can stamp their authority and make a statement in. Defensively they were very solid in the World Cup and that trend should not desert them as Ronaldo Koeman’s tactical approach is not dissimilar to that of Van Gaal.

A narrow win for the Netherlands of 1-0 is priced at 11/2 (6.50), with Frenkie de Jong to score anytime during the game at 25/4 (7.25)

MATCH ODDS

France, who will play at home, are the favourites to win at 9/10 (1.90), with the Netherlands at 67/20 (4.35) to get off to a winning start, whilst a draw is at 53/20 (3.65)
