FORMULA 1: DUTCH GP PREVIEW

Dutch GP Preview

After a long pause from the hustle and bustle from the world of Formula 1, the engine will be revved up once again at Zandvoort this weekend. A place where Max Verstappen has made a habit of dominating, much like how he’s treating the competition this year in the drivers championship. The championship leader will have that extra bit of motivation to win as fans will roar him through the 72-lap race.

RACE WINNERS

Winning races had been a habit for Red Bull and especially for Max Verstappen, who is currently on track to equal Sebastian Vettel’s record of winning nine races in a row. The wall of orange will erupt in flames should their golden boy wins again on home soil, and we are pricing the chances of that happening at 1.25. Both Lewis Hamilton and Lando Norris are priced at 15.00 to take the chequered flag on Sunday as Mercedes hopes that their upgrades have reduced the gap at the top, whilst McLaren hopes that they can continue to score podiums and maybe fight for a win.

Sergio Perez might be in the running, he loves street circuit tracks, and although Zandvoort isn’t one, its characteristics are very similar to it. There isn’t much of a run-off for most of the tracks, and nailing the exit onto the start/finish line will be key for overtakes. We are pricing Perez to spoil his teammate’s party and win at 10.00.

PODIUM FINISHERS

A win might be a bit too much to ask for McLaren, but as they have shown in previous races, such as Hungary and Great Britain, they are capable of sticking it on the second row on merit and give a hard time to those around them. Lando Norris is priced at 2.20 to get on the podium, whilst teammate Oscar Piastri is valued at 4.50 to spray champagne. The Australian driver has impressed over the course of the season, calm when faced with adversity and is also capable of making the right decision in tight moments, for a driver to showcase these qualities in his debut season, it’s outstanding.

As they continue to fall by the wayside, Ferrari has dropped down the pecking order, as both Mercedes and McLaren overtook them regularly on race weekends. Such a high-downforce track might offer the team some handy points, we are pricing Charles Leclerc to get onto the podium at 3.25 with Carlos Sainz’s chances coming in at 7.00.
