GERMANY – FIFA WORLD CUP QATAR 2022 – FAN’s COMPENDIUM

FIFA World Cup QatarCalling all German supporters! join us at LV BET as we go through each national team competing in the FIFA World Cup and give a detailed summary of what to expect and give out betting tips. In this blog, we will be focusing on the 2014 winners, Germany.

This World Cup will shake things up in domestic leagues as it will be held for the first time in wintertime between November and December. The current world champions are France after they convincingly won against Croatia in the 2018 World Cup Final. The World Cup in Qatar will be the last edition with a total of 32 teams as FIFA plans to introduce more teams in the years to come.

Germany at the FIFA World Cup

The German National team has won the FIFA World Cup four times, 1954, 1974, 1990 and 2014. Germany reached another four World Cup finals but failed to win the final, making them one of the most featured teams in a World Cup final.

The latest achievement was in Brazil when Mario Gotze chested down and fired home the winning goal against Argentina. That goal will go down in history as one of the most dramatic goals in world football.

The German National team will be managed by a different manager in the Qatar World Cup, as Hansi Flick replaces the long time manager, Joachim Low. His first game in charge saw Germany beat Armenia by 6-0, tipping the German national team as one to look out for in Qatar.

The Qatar World Cup will be an emotional one for Germany as it may be the last tournament that legends Thomas Muller and Manuel Neuer play for their country. They will surely leave the team in safe hands as young players such as Jamal Musiala, Kai Havertz, and Nico Schlotterbeck show great potential for things to come.

Germany’s successes and failures at the previous FIFA World Cup

The Germany squad were one of the teams that got eliminated from the group stages in Russia, registering their worst performance in a World Cup finals. The group consisted of Sweden, South Korea, and Mexico. The German side only managed to register three points as they won dramatically against Sweden but lost the other two. It was the first time that a reigning World Champion finished last in the Group stages.

Germany’s road to the Qatar 2022 World Cup

Germany qualified for the 2022 Qatar World Cup by topping their respective group and losing just one game in the process. Germany played some brilliant games in which they dominated and thrashed the opposition, 9-0 against Liechtenstein, 6-0 against Romania and 3-0 against Iceland. The only defeat in the qualifying came against North Macedonia in which the Germans lost 2-1.

Who will Germany play against at the Qatar 2022 World Cup?

The Germany national football team will play in Group E at the Qatar World Cup, and they will play against Japan, Spain and the CONCACAF playoff winners, which will be played on 14th June 2022, between Costa Rica and New Zealand.

Germany squad for the World Cup in Qatar

Germany national football team players from the biggest club in German football, Bayern Munich, having a total of eight players. Hansi Flick has worked with most of the players in domestic games and will look to get his National team firing on all cylinders once again.

Nico Schlotterbeck has had a brilliant season with Freiburg and is tipped to become an integral part of the defence in Qatar for Germany when partnered with either Rudiger or Sule.

The Midfield will surely be the strongest for the Germany national football team, having the talents of Joshua Kimmich, Goretzka, Gundogan, Kai Havertz and Julian Brandt. Flick will have a great mix of players who will offer both experience and new ideas for the team.
