PREMIER LEAGUE FIXTURES: ROUND 22 BETTING TIPS

Tottenham vs Arsenal

Supporters quake in their boots as the North London derby hits the streets of the capital at possibly the worst time for both clubs.

A gloomy cloud hovers over Spurs fans after watching their team get swatted aside and knocked out of the EFL Cup without putting up much of a fight. A 3-0 aggregate loss to London-rivals Chelsea was not supposed to be on the cards after Daniel Levy saw fit to employ the services of serial-winner Antonio Conte.

Although they were able to hold off Liverpool and claim an important draw at Anfield in their own EFL Cup Semi-Final, Arsenal still face very real difficulties of their own ahead of the upcoming clash with their biggest rivals. Injuries, suspensions and illness run rampant throughout their squad, leaving the Gunners without any real options to sure up the midfield.

A win for either side this Sunday in one of the biggest contests the Premier League has to offer could produce a seismic effect on the table. As both teams – along with Manchester United and West Ham – fight for a spot alongside Europe’s best, each will know the value of taking three points off a rival and securing it for themselves.

Tottenham are the favourites at 27/20 (2.35) to win, with the visitors Arsenal measuring up at 11/5 (3.20)

Aston Villa vs Manchester United

It’s not often that football players face each other twice in the same week in two different competitions.

Manchester United fans will be hoping for a sense of déjà vu when they line up against Aston Villa this Saturday. The Red Devils toppled their upcoming opponents last Monday at Old Trafford, with Scott McTominay scoring the only goal of the FA Cup 3rd Round fixture.

Although it’s only been a couple of days, Aston Villa could look like a very different team this weekend. Manager Steven Gerrard has managed to persuade none other than Philippe Coutinho to join the Lions as they attempt to claw themselves up the table and into a European spot.

For both sides, this fixture could serve as a stepping stone on which they can build the remainder of their season.

On the one hand, Cristiano Ronaldo has called out for his side to produce a performance worthy of United’s stature and push on for a top place on the table. On the other hand, Gerrard and his squad will be looking to right Monday’s wrong and take points off a team they dominated only a few days ago.

Manchester United edge it out as the favourites at 3/2 (2.50) to win, with Aston Villa at 13/7 (2.85).
