A sensational effort by Thorgan Hazard proved enough to see his side topple the European Champions, Portugal, and secure Belgium a place in the quarter-finals!

Although they may not have been the better side for most of the day, Belgium fought hard in their Round of 16 fixture. Roberto Martínez and his team were able to keep the Portuguese threat at bay while maximising their chances in their opponent’s half and scoring the only goal of the game.

For their quarter-final fixture, Belgium take on a 31-game unbeaten Italian side this Friday, who hadn’t conceded a goal in the tournament up until the 114th minute of their fixture against Austria.

Recent news out of the Belgium camp also suggests that the likes of Kevin De Bruyne and Eden Hazard both remain unlikely to participate in the quarter-final due to injuries sustained in the previous round.

However, it’s not all bad news for Belgium. Romelu Lukaku remains fit, ready and more than capable of wounding the country he reforged his name playing in. The Inter striker is on a mission to secure the EURO 2020 (2021) golden boot, with three goals already added to his tournament tally.

Belgium are at 5/4 (2.25) to qualify past Italy this Friday and at 19/10 (2.90) to draw the fixture.

Romelu Lukaku is at 9/2 (5.50) to get the first goal of the game and at 8/5 (2.60) to score at any time against Italy.

If you’re expecting both sides to go all out, we’ve got over four goals on offer at 8/1 (9.00) and Belgium to win, with both teams to score at 47/10 (5.70)

ITALY

Form: W – W – W – D(W)

A few tired legs were on show for Italy when they faced Austria last Saturday.

To their credit, the Austrians were able to take the challenge to the Italians and hold out strong for a 0-0 draw in the 90-minutes of their Round of 16 fixture.

However, it was not to be Austria’s day. Superior player quality off the bench in the form of Federico Chiesa and Matteo Pessina helped the Azzurri secure a 2-1 victory in extra time, booking their place in the quarter-finals against Belgium this Friday.

Enjoying their fourth win of the tournament, the high-flying Italians maintain their place as one of EURO 2020 (2021) outright favourites – currently at 4/1 (5.00) to take the European Football Championship trophy back home.

But, before Roberto Mancini can dream about silverware, his side must prove themselves against Roberto Martínez and his Belgium stars. And, while the Italians have shown that they possess the quality to make it far in the tournament, Belgium will not be looking to hand out any favours should the Italians produce another toothless 90-minute display like their previous one.

Italy are at 13/20 (1.65) to qualify past Belgium this Friday and at 33/10 (4.30) to win the game with both sides scoring.

Ciro Immobile comes in at 13/7 (2.85) to find the back of the net for the third time in this competition.

If you fancy a tight game this Friday, we’ve got you covered with Italy to win 1-0 at 9/2 (5.50) and under 2.5 goals on offer at 4/7 (1.57).
