LIVERPOOL VS MANCHESTER CITY: BETTING TIPS

LIVERPOOL VS MANCHESTER CITY: BETTING TIPS

Premier LeaugeA modern-day classic rivalry that seems to have taken a slightly different dynamic this year, with Liverpool slightly off it as they currently sit 10th. A great performance in the Champions League will boost morale as they prepare to face one of the best teams in the world at the moment. It will surely be an interesting game to watch unfold, with a leaky Liverpool defence and an unstoppable Haaland. Odds are stacked against the home side, which is rarely the occasion. Will the Champions League thrashing of Rangers springboard Jurgen Klopp’s men to better results in upcoming fixtures?

The ultimate test is next Sunday, and LV BET has the best odds for you to enjoy the action in the Premier League.

LIVERPOOL

Premier League Form: L – D – D – W – W

In an early meeting between these two incredible sides in the Community Shield, Liverpool looked like the more agile, flexible and dynamic team of the two, but as the first few games rolled by, Liverpool themselves became fragile. This is coming after an exceptional couple of years at the top of their game, so it’s only natural that there will be a drop-off period. There have been glimpses of the great Liverpool, as seen in the annihilation of Bournemouth, but the performances stuttered after that.

Liverpool might be suffering from their own level of expectation. As seen in previous years, the Reds were able to keep up and push Manchester City all the way without splashing the same amount of cash. For the Liverpool supporter, it’s the little things that are not clicking at the moment that will be the most frustrating to digest, like the fact that Mo Salah is not pitching in the goals that he normally would have, and Van Dijk is not as defensively secure as previous seasons. Last season, Liverpool was a mile off Manchester City in January but managed to claw back the deficit, so let’s not discount the Reds just yet.

Darwin Nunez has been overshadowed by the incident at Selhurst Park, which got him sent off, but the movement off the ball and the link-up play with wingers has been great. It will be very interesting to see how the Uruguayan gets on against the City defence. We are pricing Darwin Nunez to score anytime at 22/15 (2.47), and a home team first-half clean sheet is at 13/10 (2.30)

PREVIOUS GAME LINEUP: Alisson, Tsimikas, Van Dijk, Matip, Alexander-Arnold, Alcantara, Henderson, Diaz, Jota, Salah and Nunez

INJURIES / SUSPENSIONS: Luis Diaz – Knee Injury, Oxlade Chamberlain – Thigh Injury, Naby Keita – Thigh Injury, Trent Alexander Arnold – Ankle/Foot Injury and Joel Matip – Calf Strain

MANCHESTER CITY

Premier League Form: W – W – W – D – W

A rampant side, a team that you will run out of adjectives to describe how good they have been but still find themselves two points behind Arsenal – that’s the Premier League for you. Manchester City visits Anfield with an unbeaten record to protect, and it’s a place where not many teams have left with points under the Jurgen Klopp era. This Sunday might be a great opportunity.

Pep Guardiola will surely be the happier manager approaching this game with very few injuries to contend with and a great position in the league. Seeing some performances from the likes of Trent Alexander Arnold, who hasn’t looked like himself this season, might instigate him to pile on the pressure on that side of the field. A change in shape might also come into play as Klopp’s men are moving towards the 4-2-3-1 formation, which offers more opportunities to their new addition Darwin Nunez. A similar formation has been employed by Manchester United and Aston Villa, who have enjoyed some success against Manchester City to a certain extent.

It will surely be a game of fine margins, as often is the case in such clashes, but Liverpool will put on a good fight and push City to their limits. Whoever has the lead at half time has a great chance of going on to win the game – we are pricing Manchester City to win the first half at 13/10 (2.30) whilst a 3-1 correct score win for Manchester City at 11/1 (12.00)

PREVIOUS GAME LINEUP: Ederson, Akanji, Dias, Ake, Cancelo, Rodri, Silva, Mahrez, De Bruyne, Foden and Haaland

INJURIES / SUSPENSIONS: Kalvin Phillips – Shoulder Injury and Kyle Walker – Groin/Hip/Pelvic injury
