Milan

SERIE A FORM: W – L – W – W – D

Milan have an incredible squad filled with young talent, and this really come to the fore last year as they won the Scudetto, which was not really the objective for the team at the start of the season. Stefano Pioli has worked wonders throughout his tenure with the Italian side, and his acquisitions in Origi, De Ketelaere, Sergino Dest, and other young players added more reinforcements to lead a charge that will venture out of the Champions League group stage, which is the aim for this season.

The recent international break has been harsh with injuries for Milan, with keeper Mike Maignan and Theo Hernandez being the ones suffering lengthy injuries. Theo should be available for selection this weekend, but the keeper has a couple more weeks to be back at full fitness.

This fixture comes in a very testing period for Milan, as they have a crucial Champions League before and after the game. The trip to Stamford Bridge resulted in a damaging defeat of 3-0, but hopefully, this will instigate a better performance this weekend against Juve. The Belgian wonderkid showed flashes of brilliance but we are still yet to see him own his position and start dominating play which, for Milan, cannot come quick enough.

INJURIES / SUSPENSIONS: Alessandro Florenzi – Hamstring Injury, Zlatan Ibrahimovic – Knee Surgery, Alexis Saelemaekers – Bruised Knee, Davide Calabria – Hamstring Injury, Simon Kjaer – Muscle Injury and Mike Maignan – Calf Injury

PREVIOUS GAME LINEUP: Tatarusanu, Toure, Tomori, Kjaer, Calabria, Tonali, Bennacer, Saelemaekers, De Ketelaere, Leao and Giroud

Juventus

SERIE A FORM: W – L – D – D – W

Juventus have struggled to get going in Allegri’s second season in charge of the Bianconeri, and new signing Angel Di Maria from PSG has spent a good portion of his time on the sidelines due to minor injuries and suspensions. The build-up play has been slow, and mistakes lead to dropped points to teams that you wouldn’t think Juventus would struggle against, such as Monza.

Three draws against Salernitana, Fiorentina and Roma have stunted their progress, which sees them fall seven points off the lead. If any fixture pumps up the Juve players, it’s the Milan one. A well-needed three points are on the cards against a squad that is depleted due to injuries.

Milan does have a brilliant record going for them as they are a very difficult side to beat when playing at the San Siro. A test only Napoli managed to overcome just last week, as the other defeat came in January 2022. If anything, supporters will go to the very end with their team and that is their famous motto – Fino Alla Fine.

INJURIES / SUSPENSIONS: Kaio Jorge – Patella Rupture, Paul Pogba – Knee Surgery

PREVIOUS GAME LINEUP: Szczesny, Danilo, Bremer, Bonucci, Sandro, McKennie, Locatelli, Rabiot, Kostic, Milik and Vlahovic
