UFC fans are sure to be at the edge of their seats this weekend as the upcoming UFC 267: Błachowicz vs Teixeira event at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, pits some of the best fighters in the world against each other for the chance to write history in the sport.
Two championship fights promise to steal the headlines.
In one corner, fans get to enjoy Poland’s UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, Jan Blachowicz, defend both his belt and 28-8 record this Saturday against Brazil’s Glover Teixeira.
UFC 267 will mark the second time Blachowicz has defended his title since he claimed it in a contest against Dominick Reyes back on September 27, 2020, at UFC 253. His first defence shook the world when he became the first person to defeat Israel Adesanya in mixed martial arts on March 6, 2021, at UFC 259 via unanimous decision.
The would-be Brazilian champion comes equipped with his own clinical 32-7 record – 18 of which were knockouts. Teixeira also holds the all-time records for most submissions and finishes in the Light-Heavyweight division, making him quite possibly Blachowicz’s most deadly opponent to date.
In the other corner, UFC supporters will be treated to a cold-war Interim championship fight between none other than Russia’s Peter Yan (15-2) and America’s Cory Sandhagen (14-3).
Since the title was vacated due to the retirement of Henry Cejudo, UFC 267 marks the first title fight for Cory Sandhagen and the first time that Peter Yan will be able to reclaim his former UFC Bantamweight Champion title.
UFC 267: BETTING ODDS
Jan Blachowicz comes in as the favourite this Saturday, measured at 2/1 (1.28) to retain his title, with Glover Teixeira at 23/10 (3.30) to make history.
Petr Yan measures up at 2/5 (1.40) to reclaim his title, with his opponents Cory Sandhagen at 17/10 (2.70).
